There are probably a million websites dedicated to vans and van life, so thank you for visiting ours!
THE BASICS
We are Otto and Willow, turned lose on the world by our 6 adult children and 7 grandkids, retired Military, from the Show-Me-State, part-time nomads with a DIY conversion van.
OUR VAN
2015 Ford Transit 350XLT that started out as a 12-passenger van.
Phase 1: 10 seats were removed. Emergency exit hatch, 4 reclining chairs, inverter and outlets/USB ports were added.
Phase 2: Two reclining chairs removed. Bed, window coverings, window vents, cooler and other camping items added. Hit the Road for 58 days to help us discover what we needed and what we didn’t need.
Phase 3: 1st bed removed, 2nd bed and cabinets added.
Phase 4: Added SnoMaster freezer , behind left passanger seat, LOVE IT! Added 4THD Solar Merlin Grid Solar panel XP 170 for extended boon docking.
Covid put a stop to our build when we took our oldest 2 grandkids for 5 1/2 months when their school shut down. Their school opened but there was talk of shutting down again, so we delayed build. Now when we have time we can’t get the parts we want and when we can get the parts we want we don’t have the time. Hopefully soon!
Phase 5: Empty van and add sound dampner, vinyl flooring, build bed frame & cabinets using 80/20 extruded aluminum.
The van is constantly evolving!

Otto
Grew up camping with his family and Boy Scouts, even earned Eagle Scout. Joined the military and traveled/lived in various parts of the world. Now retired he loves to travel to National Parks, Historical sites, and kayaking.

Willow
The soul of Gypsy, the heart of a Hippie and the spirit of a Cowgirl! Spent her early childhood growing up on a ranch where she spent all her free time horseback riding, camping, fishing and hunting. Loves just about anything outside, history, museums and traveling around without a schedule. Would die without music, good music, you know like from the 70s.
“All my life I've always come back to one thing, my need to feel free and the need to feel the breeze, the ride provides a freedom this gypsy needs, where every road is another blessed memory, a new experience to carry inside my journey, a sense of belonging to a familiar tribe, a brotherhood that goes beyond a bloodline.” ― Jess "Chief" Brynjulson
