Stitch and Soup Mama will be in 210. Reservation for that is done
It’s settled we are going with Table Rock State Park Campground # 2. I reserved the handicapped yurt, yurt #6 for Kentucky and Papa and campsite #254 for Michael and I.
Will delete all camping information above except for Table Rock State Park # 2. So it is easier for you guys to make a reservation.
I will bite the bullet and call Mona in the morning to tell her SDCC is not going to work out. Pray for me…LOL
I am headed to STL to help my kiddo get his house ready to put on the market. Will be back around Tuesday and I will start working on this years website and post in FB Group. Please help spread the word to others.
Derek I hope your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery. Will be praying for you.
Kentucky you have my thoughts and prayers with your move. Hope is is a smooth process for you.
Can’t wait to see you all! Love you all!
State park works for us. With just getting ready for knee surgery and could have months off work . The state park seems like a better fit.
Here are my thoughts. We all want Kentucky & Papa with us, which means making sure Papa has a comfortable place to stay. Most of the cabins at SDCC have stairs, but there is one handicap-accessible yurt at Table Rock State Park according to website. Reserving that yurt does require being registered with the State of Missouri for accessibility—I can take care of that.
The yurt would also give us a shared gathering space during the day, especially if we have cold or rainy weather. It would provide a kitchen for cooking, washing dishes, and so forth.
There’s also the nostalgia factor. If this ends up being the last COH, maybe it would be more special sticking with what we know one more time.
We could always plan something new in 2027—maybe Ohio or Kentucky. I definitely want to keep spending time with all of our patriotic family. I love you all.
My proposal:
Table Rock.
Everyone makes their own reservations, with the exception of the handicap-accessible yurt, which I can reserve. Kentucky and Papa could contribute $90 per day toward the yurt, leaving $69 per day remaining. If the rest of us who are camping—Bruce, Derek, Goldie, Jason, Michael, and myself—split that balance, it would come to about $11.50 per person per day.
Stitch and Soup Mama will already have their own yurt, so they wouldn’t need to contribute.
This way, the yurt becomes a shared space for all of us during the day, and a comfortable, accessible place for Kentucky and Papa to stay at night.
Thoughts? Anybody Second this?
I’d prefer to stay at table rock with plan to rent a couple of yurts, one for Papa and any others with needs for same, and another communal gathering. I’m very happy sleeping in the car, even (or especially) with my new small roommate. I can afford Mona’s plan but would still likely be sleeping in car and recognize that many would find that unaffordable
Sent to Stitch. Ed was thinking of coming from AZ, he would need a bed, we talked about a yurt. Haven’t heard back yet.
Honest opinion, sdc is expensive. I can camp anywhere and will go with group decision. I just want to be with my family ❤️
So, 4500/let’s say 10 people. That’s 450 for 5 days so 90 night per person, but if we get 15 that’s only 60 per night per person.?? Gotta think on this. We already have the right of us! Depends how many are dedicated??
Ok…
1. Silver dollar city is 4500 for Friday – Sunday?? Would we need another place for tues-thursday? Also 92 a day for what?? 92X2 is 184 a day plus our split of 4500..ugh…not sure that’s in the budget!!
2. Campground is up to y’all, we would be getting hotel or renting one of those their yurts.
No, $92 is for one person to go to Silver Dollar City Theme park one time. The $4500 is for Silver Dollar City Campground for 5 days. Two separate things.
I don’t think we will have enough people to cover the $4000 camping , so something like the state park or similar
ALSO, I sent this link to Bruce, Soup Mama, Derek and Goldie, Kentucky and Waterboy. I do not know how to contact Stitch. If there is anybody else that usually camps that you believe should have a say please feel free to share link with them.
